So very sorry to hear the news. My thoughts are with his family and his friends. Sam was a great guy, and funny as heck. I always enjoyed having him around. I'm sure everyone at TF will take a moment and remember him. As for those of left behind, hang in there and make good choices so we won't have too many more of these kinds of posts. I'm sad to hear that he's gone but I was happy to see that he took precautions and was wearing his helmet...clearly not a guarentee but the right thing to do. Hugs to all my boys in Sam's camp...

Man this really breaks my heart!!! Sam was so cool. He built some Real nice stuff. I will miss Him :( I didn't get to talk to him very often, but when we did talk It was very enjoyable. He would Always tell you exactly how he did everything on his builds, he was Very open. Sam was a Great 3 wheeler Rider!!!

Sam was an awesome dude. I meet him a few years ago at a Smith Road race, and then hung out with him at several other rides. He will really be missed! I hate reading about stuff like this - RIP Sam!

I did not know him,however this saddens me. This is a truly sad story. God bless him and his family,I hope that he is given a moment of silence at TF. It is evident that he was a hell of a guy,and his talent is obvious,based on the photos. I remember back in like 2008 i think it was at rogers ride in michigan; he was on a 200X that had a flat rear tire and he had to ride it for like 20 miles through those tight trails. Sam was one of my very best friends.....This one of the toughest I have ever had to deal with in my 35 years,I was with Sam that nite and was the last person to see him.He was one of the coolest people in my life. I could always tell him anything that I may have had going on weather it be good or bad.He always gave me good solid advice,and steer me in the right direction.We always helped eachother out with whatever we might have had going on.I was not going to go to Trikefest after this tragic situation took place.but however the more I sat and thought about it,I think it may do me some good to go and help clear my head some?(As Sam and I were going together and that's all we've had talked about for the past few weeks) I will be bringing Sams all time favorite 250R along for a little piece of our friend to be with us to be remembered.I will also have a donation site set up in Pete's office for Nicki and his two young daughters.
Services will be held @ the Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette,OH on Wed 6-22-11 from 10am-2pm(showing) The funeral with immeditaly follow. I will see you all thursday.. I LOVE YOU BUDDY..... R.I.P.ATCSAM

My family and I went to Sam's funeral today. It was a very sad place to be. I think what you are doing for his family is awesome and just shows what kind of a community we are. I am Sam's friend but for total strangers to care enough about his family's welfare blows my mind. I looked at his family today and it really saddened me to know that his daughters will grow up without their father. His youngest daughter turns 4 tomorrow and she is so young that she will probably not even remember her daddy as she grows up.

I believe if you have your paypal tied to a credit card it will make you pay a fee. It does that for mine, but if I use my bank account to fund it instead of a credit card then there are no fees on either end.

When I sent my gift, I had to pay a $1 charge also, I used the funds in my paypal account and took the rest from my bank account. If I were to use my credit card, there would have been a $3 charge, even sending it as a gift. They have to make there money some how or everyone would be sending money as a gift, lol

It's still rolling in slowly,,,The lowest I have recieved is $5,31. That means as much as as the $20. That person gave EVERYTHING they had. Which of course,,we're not asking for!!! But he made his decision literally boarding a plane Wednesday night. And won't be back on here till Monday. If you go to the 2nd page there is also a Video of it running. At this point,,MY plan would be to set a date,,next Friday 1 pm eastern?? So everyone is up and around on the west coast. Highest post there by 1 PM wins it. Wow, what a tragedy! I never had the chance to meet Sam, but looking at those pics he just seemed like one of the guys I'd be proud to hang out, ride, and build with. My prayers go out to his wife and children, and all those lucky enough to call him a friend. This thread brought a tear to my eye, and like I said I've never even met him. Come on guys, we have paid $500+ for fenders several hundred dollars for extended axles and even more for extended old school swing arms that need sandblasted and painted or polished (that in all honesty do little but boost our pride) and we cant all chip in with even a few bucks for a very worthy cause... It is an awesome 3 Wheeler , It needs a seat bad , and needs a chain and chain wheels . My guess is the man I bought it from rode double up .I will wash it ( I did ride it ) today and post photos of it ....This thing is very clean and runs perfect . I have only rode it around the jetting loop by my house ,then I took it on a three hour tour of the mission . This thing works as good as it looks .Personally I would wait till the Kitty is at 1k then auction it off since I doubt anyone is going to offer more than $6 or $7 hundred dollars for it . In the month I have spent looking for Tecates , and 250Rs ...I have not seen such a clean example of a non restored 3 Wheeler !

This experience has humbled me. I must admit ,,I think Bigsot shoots for the moon with everything he does. As do I. However ,going in,I thought we'd stir up a few Hundred bucks,and get it to them. As of yesterday morning,,I THINK there were only 21 of us that cared enough to donate. Out of almost 20,000 members,I didn't think that was a very good showing. But understood completely,and was VERY happy with what we had got done. Bigshot however,put his heart and soul into this and was frankly ticked!! Well,since Yesterday,,we have got $105 MORE dollars from members,,,,,,and a $500 anonymous donation ! Now,,I don't know WHO you are,or WHERE you're from,,but THANK YOU ,,,,,,,,, What else can I say? Thank you. It looks like we're gonna do some real good for this family. And I would do this all over again for ANY one of you. Just hope we never have to! But that's not reality.

I found a few pics from Sam racing against some higher powered machines, while riding a 200x.
He rode the wheels off that 200x at Smith Rd raceway that day.
Sam was integral to the Ohio Trike racing scene and was always a good guy to have at the track representing 3 wheelers in a positive light. I know my wife was on a 250R there was a 85 T-3 and a 86 350X that day and Sam blew past them all both motos to finish 1st overall.. Needless to say he was a talented rider.

What he means is,,I haven't sent the money yet. No good deed,,,,,I knew that going in! I WANTED the 250R to be enroute or delivered before I sent the $1000. We don't even have a shipping QUOTE yet! There is also $160++ $ still coming,, I wanted to do it in one shot. Communication hasn't been great to say the least. But I know he is out of town and out of reach many days at a time.
