We were riding in the backyard today and I snapped some pics of my Tecate and the wife's 250R. Now that I have spent some more time on the 250r today, I can definitely feel the difference in vibration between the 2. The Tecate is faster, but the 250r has a lot more bottom end. I guess if I had to explain the difference between the 2 I would say that the 250R is civilized where the Tecate just got out on parole..

Everything-cool. I want to hear the zinger' a little more clearly. I like the way they sound, but with that pipe and good audio it'd kinda be like good music Doug.

I've thought about that too.. but it was $130/shipped too good to pass up.. lol I was real excited up until I broke that bolt off.. Got to pull the motor and try to drill it and use an easy out.. I've got more motors so I may just rebuild another one.

Looking good Doug. I bet the R is fun on the grass with those H-Tracs on the rear.

What are the details on the Tecate's seat and rear fenders?
dcreel
06-20-2011, 01:13 PM
The rear fender is just an old fender that I put a Tecate sticker on the rear. It was on the old flat tracker 85 I bought. The seat is a Hi-Flite seat and they still make and sell them today.

Where did you get those nifty looking pegs for the 250r?
They are Blingstar Notorious P.E.G. pegs for the TRX450R that are attached using a set of Jason Hall's 450R footpeg adapters. They are really nice..

Got the 110 out yesterday and bolted on the new seat that Shortline10 found on Ebay. This thing looked almost new. Thanks, Mike.. The old girl looks mucho gooder now. I have some videos of me running it through the kids cones. I think I can get this 110 through the slalom faster than either my Tecate or the wife's 250R. It needs to have the brakes figured out. They barely work.

Hey i didnt even notice the Blingstar pegs. i have to know, How do u like them????
i bought a set for my TPC 450R build. i had no idea how big they r so i am skeptical, but now to c them on the R they look nice. they really dont look bulky or out of place and u can remove the angle piece on the ends for a smaller look. give me some feedback. thanks.
more pics of them on there too. like a front shot. i have heard they r extremely comfortable cuz they r wider. more of a flat platform for the foot, not just that thin width pushing to the bridge of the foot.

Yes, the Blingstar pegs are really nice. You really don't notice their size. I almost took them off because they look huge mounted. But when you are riding it, especially jumping it or rough terrain they really shine. Definitely a plus when sliding as well, you can use the kick up on the peg to put pressure on either side while sliding. I'll get some pics for you in a few..

wow they r pretty big. i think im gonna not use the extended up slant part, unless im on a track or something. they r far bigger then the 250R peg but not really that much bigger then 450R peg once u remove the kick-up. thanks man.

Here is the Tecate video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCfNc58f9g4
Whats weird is when I watch the 250r video, its like its 1997 all over again and I'm on my R. Man it's been a long time.
Its hard to judge without being there but it seems like that Tecate just flat out hauls the mail. But what is easy to judge is you have a perfect spot for some flat track madness. Just let me know when the track is under way and I'll start building the bike:D
Great rides Doug, they're badass!
