Well, I picked up a Tri zinger with no top end (literally, just the bottom crankcase bolted in the frame) for pretty cheap. In my state (NC) you can ride a moped on the streets with no tags, plates, insurance, license, or anything, just have to be 16. I turned 16 in march so instead of buying a moped, I am building a street legal tri zinger. The NC DMV defines a moped as a "2 or 3 wheeled vehicle which can go no faster than 30mph and has no external shifting device, and has a piston displacement no larger than 50cc". The zinger follows all but one of those requirements - its 60cc! Well, I have heard that some of you guys have slapped tri zinger top ends on PW50s. Would I be able to swap a PW50 top end onto my zinger? Or do I need a PW50 connecting rod also? Please guys, help me out!

I doubt that you will get your motor checked that close for displacement. I would have a sign shop make me a tri zinger 50 decals for it and run the stock 60 cc engine.

Well guys, if the motor ran I would run the stock motor. Heres the problem: I only have the bottom end case of the motor. I need a cylinder, piston, wrist pin, circlips, and rings. Otherwise I would run the stock engine and get stickers. for the cost of getting all the parts for the stock engine, it would be cheaper to get a PW50 top end and just slap that on the zinger bottom end... would the connecting rod for the piston be too long for a PW50 top end? Thats all I need to know
