Traded a 200x for a 1983 250R with DG Starburst head!!!

So I haven't been on much in the last month, but I figured I would share my latest score.:lol: As some of you may know, the last time i was really on here I had a decent 250sx that I was trying to fix up a bit. Well, I ended up trading that about a month ago for a really nice 200x. I wanted something a little sportier. It wasn't anything real special, but it had a DG pipe on it, and I ended up getting it cleaned up really nice. I figured I would keep that one for ever lol. Well, I thought just for the heck of it i would put it on craigslist and see what kinds of offers I could get for it. The FIRST day it was on there I had a guy offer me a 1983 250R. I was hesitant at first, (because I kinda like 4 strokes better) but I figured what the heck. My buddy that I ride with also has a 250R (same year) all set up for racing so I figured I'd have something to compete with him. I did the trade a few days ago and what a great deal on my side!!!! It has a DG STARBURST high compression head, itp rims, itp holeshot tires (almost brand new), an ANSWER EQUALIZER pipe, and supposedly (guy i got it from said) its bored over to a 300. Needless to say its pretty nice. Only thing I dont really like is it has a huge dent in the side of the tank, but hey, it gives it character lol. I raced my buddy with the 250R the day I got it and SMOKED him!!! Anyways, I figured I would share that little story with you all. If you would like to comment feel free, and also, if anyone has a running 350x near me (or willing to travel, I dont have a truck right now I live east of Rochester NY) and would like to trade, thats my dream trike and i want one so bad!!!!! lol Thanks for reading

OH yeah, not that its anything real major, but i just bought a bulb for the headlight today and supposedly the lights even work, havent tested them yet but we will see tomorrow!!!!

just a quick question. what does a DG cool head do other than the stock one?:wondering

I've herd they have more/ bigger fins for better cooling, the one I have is a high compression, high performance head and increases power. That's all I really know ...sorry. I'm sure someone else on here could tell u more than I could about them.

The DG heads increase compression and offer better cooling then the stock head. When i put mine on there was a noticeable power increase. That looks you got the better end of the trade.

I think they reduce a skoosh of vibration , but I can say for sure that was the real reason but when my motor was redone I tossed the Turbo crank and added a DG head and it vibrated a lot less , I didnt notice any power gain and how do you know if its over heating ???

Lol, that picture was taken the day I got it. I always wear a helmet when I ride and I have riding gear, I was just taking a picture with me on it. That's not how I ride.
