I cleaned my carb on the atc110 and it still kind of falls on its face at WOT/sputters...It runs better with the air box off?? This means too rich right?...The atc has a strait short pipe on it...It has a 85 main jet.. Should I try jetting down the main to 80? Im not sure if its jetting thats causing the sputtering or timing or what?
Does anyone have any extra jets for a 110? I NEED a new 85 and maybe an 80 to try!!! PM me (i have paypal)
THANKS!!!

Could a bad coil be causing the sputtering/dying?? How can I test mine?

Sounds like a dirty main jet... or too small a main jet... 95 or 100 would be my guess...

my advancer was stuck on mine when I got it, ran smooth but no power if that helps. you can get jets from jets r us for $3. I have another 90 that it was sputtering at WOT. I played with the choke as I was going down the rode WOT, chokin it helped, so I knew to jump up (richer) in main jet size.

I drilled out the 85 just a tad and it ran worse...and It ran better with the air box off...and runs worse on choke...plug was black..

I'm not entirely familiar with how jetting and such works, but from the sounds of it, you need to keep your airbox lid off, as the bike can't breathe, or better yet, run a clamp on air filter. Then increase your jetting size. More airflow demands more fuel flow, I think.

A short straight pipe on the exhaust can be a PITA to jet with. Sounds like your main jet is rich ( too big ), try going down a size, keeping in mind you may have to change your needle setting so that you are not lean at 3/4 throttle. It's a bit of a trial and error balancing act really. Plug chops are most accurate, and keep in mind everything with jetting is based on throttle position not rpm. On that note, hitting the rev limiter can sometimes feel like a tuning problem.
Edit; just realized you are on a '79. Don't think you have a rev limiter on a points type ignition.

:D had same problem 79 110 .the fix was a 85 125 carb and a open airfilter. needle posstion had to be changed to ,but now it runs harder then ever. keep at it ,good luck:cool:

Now I need a nother 82 main jet to put back in my other atc 110........
