where are vins located at on the frame and motor thanks

The vin on the 86 I have is in the steering stem. Donno about the motor, too dark to go look.

on my t4 motor its on the top of the right crankcase close to where the cylinder studs are.

hi mike,

let me know what numbers you are able to make out. i remember seeing a couple 7's on the end. try a wire brush, and maybe a light sand. then place paper over it and rub a pencil on it. i can try and contact kawi for verification of the vin number if we get anywhere with it.

still very interested.

actually i would try rubbing some zep on there with brillo before sanding. dont want to damage the area really. if all else fails, i guess powerwash, sanding, or sand blasting would be the last resort.
