cylinder making strange noise

i was riding my 200es down the road today when the motor suddenly ran rough and made a strange noise. i killed it and let it cool down since it was running hot. when i turn it over now the cylinder makes a strange hollow noise when it travels, kinda like the hollow sound you get when blowing into an empty jug. the motor runs but it makes this hollow sound and i haven't tried driving it yet, because i'm not sure if it has some serious damage or not. can anybody help me out?

Compression? Blows off your thumb? Sounds like a head gasket.............

is there some way i can test to see if i've blown a head gasket?

Dirtcrasher just told you . Place your thumb over the spark plug hole and give it a yank and see if it blows your thumb off ? If not it's time to tear it apart .

oh okay. if it is a gasket i'll just have the motor rebuilt and start fresh
