I adjusted the carb as said in the manual and started her up, and after a minute or so, the exhaust got red hot right at the head? I adjusted the carb because the the bike was not running right. It lacks power. I appreciate any helP!!

wow thats really not good. i have witnessed this one other time. my buddy had a yamaha warrior and he got it stuck in a mud pit and he got so fed up with it that he just held it wide open til it came out. we were night riding so that head pipe was so noticeable when it was glowing bright red. it was crazy!

I'm used to my KLT200 exhaust having the slightest glow at night, but not bright like this sounds!

Definatly sounds lean. Check the needle and the main jet also. Pilots don't normal get out far enough to make things turn red hot. Unless it's way off. No power on the bottom end or the top or the mid?

There is also a good chance the timing is off one way or the other, by a tooth. Its an easy check to do, just to be sure.

No power on the low and back fires on the top end! WTF?

It sounds to me like these guys are right. Your timeing might be slightly off and your bike is running lean
