I'm new to this forum and just bought a Big Red 200es to use around the house. Its in good shape and runs well. I see on ebay and the Maier site that there are more parts for the 250es out there. Do the plastics interchange on these two models? Is the engine size the only difference. Im looking to fix it up a bit, maybe new fenders and gas tank. Are the original type stickers available? Thanks

100% Complete different machines! A new plastic tank is still available, decals are available on Ebay from a few good folks. But you need 82-84 Plastics, seat, year specific decals. The spark plug and tires are the only things that jump to mind that are the same!

Is the 250es a much better machine?

well that depends on the person.

the 250 es has front and rear suspension. 50 more cc's which believe it or not does make a big difference in power. The hubs are more universal meaning you can put alot of after market rims on it due to the bolt patttern.

If your just using it around the house, You won't gain much going to a 250es big red.
