I started my Tri Z project for the first time tonite....I poured some gas and oil down the cylnder and it fired on the first kick!
The headlight was working on both low and high beam. I was trying to change my on/off switch to a new one I bought and I accidently pulled a wire from the plug housing. (Meaning I pulled the actually wire from the plug housing so that the brass wire was showing but the male and female plugs were still attached.) The trike was off when this happened. It was the black wire on the right headlamp.
I put the wire back in the housing and then made sure the male end of the housing was still attached to the female part. I started it and the high and low beams both worked.
After it ran for a bit the high beams went out. I put the wire back in the housing (by bending the plug and clamping the wire in the male part of the plug since it pulled out). The high beams still did not work PLUS my tail light was out.
What gives???
I then realized that I needed to change the tail light because it was burned out. Interestly, it was working earlier tonite. It seems like right when it went out the high beams stoped working.
Now only the Low beams work. I checked and rechecked all connections and everything is secure. I even put in a new light and on/off switch new from the factory and the same result.
Could it be that when the tail light goes out the high beams go out too??
