'85 250SX headlight smaller then '86 250SX headlight???

I am working on restoring an '86 250SX to a nice rideable condition. The original headlight shell is cracked and bent and spray painted but the headlight and lens itself is great. I found a bought a nice '85 headlight shell and I went to switch them and the light from the '86 white shell is quite a bit larger then the '85 headlight shell!

Is this correct? Honda went to a larger light on the '86's???

Yes the 86 model is larger,someone correct me if i'm wrong but the 86 250r is larger too
