I noticed the ratings on the new oil for cars had changed to SN. Being the curious one, I googled and found this.

It may be old news, but I've never seen the info about not running new oil in older engines published like that before. I've never run anything that said "Energy Conserving" in any of my bikes, But I do run 10W 30 in my old Silverado with a push rod v-8, guess I'll change that.

I have seen many people on here advise against using energy conserving oils in bikes, this just proves that point. I'm NOT starting a thread to debate oils, so please don't go there, just thought it was interesting.
