I finaly got a chance to see how my 1978 IT175 cylinder fits my yt case.. It doesn't.
Thats a bummer. Anyways, my spare engine had a bad crank. I split the cases today and i had a bad crank bearing and a bad big end bearing. Looks like some one decided to not run oil, or the oil injection failed or something.
Anyways, the IT cylinder, the transfers don't line up, the extend past the case. Has anyone though about building the weld up around the transfers on the case, then having it surfaced. Then port matching it? This could yield for extreme potential.
I noticed that the it 175 cylinder has the same bolt pattern as some spare CR125 reeds. With a little work, and a spacer, the CR reeds would fit. The cylinder also has way better cooling than the YT cylinder.
Just telling the world some more info i found.
