While putting my wheeler back together after light resto. The petcock, when in the off position, has a slight drip leak to it. Is this a big deal if my float and needle are working properly. I thought maybe it was the o-ring that goes where the plastic filter screen meets the actual petcock. My o-ring was over the plastic screen and I believe it should go in between the plastic screen and petcock? Even if I plug the output and blow through the bowl side I can hear a slight escape of air when in the off position which leads me to believe the petcock leaks internally. Should I order one through Honda for $40-50 bucks? I'm afraid if I buy a used one it will leak like the one I have which is actually in good condition besides the leak. Any opinions? Forget it? Replace it with oem? Aftermarket? Any other fixes for the one I have? Thanks in advance.

Don't order one thru Honda. Get on eBay. They have them brand new around $25.

I'd say of all my honda fuel shut off valves,
they are all different.

ON isn't always on
and same with off.

Perfectly horizontal should be 'off' but some
want to be a few degrees either way.

I had one leak a few drops a day and it filled the cylinder with fuel
and also raised the oil level by 1/2 quart, diluting the oil
with gas so yes, try to get it fixed.
