Yes guys especially on dirt, whether your on 2, 3 or 4 wheels its not really a question of if... but when your going to take a spill, the problem is you dont ever know when when is...

There is a very simple rule I had drummed into me when I was a kid
" IF YOU DON'T NEED A HEAD, THEN YOU DON'T NEED A HELMET"
In other words if you have some other use for your head like using the brain inside to do some basic things, i.e: make the rest of your body work.
Always take the time to put your helmet on, no matter how small the ride is going to be and always invest in a good well fitting comfortable helmet, then you won't mind wearing it.

Ouch! My neighbour is recovering as we speak from a dirt bike wreck on Sat night; nose broken in three places. Classic situation, a day of golf, a bunch of wobbly pops and "oh look you have a dirt bike"; one wheelie into a tree later and there you have it.

My co-worker's buddy took a bit of a digger this past winter on his snowmobile. He was doing about 70 mph, not wearing a helmet when he hit a slush patch. This was slow for him. His sled does about 120. The front end of the sled stopped dead in its tracks, sent him flying, and the sled flipping over and landed on him. If no one was around to see this he would be dead. The irony of the whole story is he the buddy who is constantly enforcing helmets. He is one luck fellow.

Not that I am in any way an advocate of "big brother" forcing the use of seat belts or helmets....But I live in NY, where all motorcycle riders are required by law to wear the helmet, as well as anyone operating a snowmobile or ATV on public property or any public trail system.. But I do believe its best to protect the ol' noggin when riding....
What I do wonder about is all the other states that dont have helmet laws, how many riders would be alive today if they were wearing a helmet when they crashed?

Lol, that is pretty fun though. I could bring up all-nighters-after-the-rodeo, stories, but that's for fun campfire talk, lol!
