Hello ladies and gents,

We have a 1984 atc 200es. It was running fine and starting fine and then one day it did not start. We pulled the plug and did a spark test and it did not spark. So, I suspected the ignition coil. I put in a brand new ignition coil and it started right up. It ran and started fine again for about two weeks and then it did not start again. Did the spark plug test and it did not spark. I do not want to put a new ignition coil on it and burn it up. Can anyone shed some light on this or share their experiences with this type of problem? Thank you. :wondering

Check the exciter coil resistance,I have change a lot of them. Also it seem that the 200es have more problem than the other model with the CDI unit.I had over 10 of them and all sold.I have repair 5 of them with the same problem.Run fine a day.Don't start the other day,5 minutes later it run fine.....CDI problem

Does anybody have a good place to get a new CDI?

Did you get this problem solved? Did you find a cdi to try? I just had a similar problem with a 200es- It was fine one day and the next it wouldnt start....................I figured out eventually it would only start by clicking the key off & back on while holding the starter button. It turned out to be the CDI causing this to my amazement.
(It was not a key switch problem.)
