is the lighting coil part of the stator and what is the value of an 85 200x in decent shape running and driving wit no major issues besides a dim headlight. which come to find out is very common?

Correct about the stator.

Value depends on the area. Around here they are about $600 for decent rider. I bought my 84 for $100 with a bad top end, and paid $300 for my 85 that needed a complete rebuild. I am sure on the west coast they can be had for a little less. Trikes are damn funny things when it comes to location. I have never seen a tecate or a tri zinger here, but they are numerous in other parts of the country. Location location location.
