just bought a 1984 200s

I bought this thing for 650 and it surpised me. i bought it so id have something to go with my 1983 185. i noticed how much more speedy and powerful the 200 is than the 185. i was wondering how would i be able to get pretty close to the same power and speed out of the 185 without spending over 200$. By the way! ill get some pics posted of this thing soon. bought it for 650 and had it delivered from over 2 hours away.

does any other engine drop into the 185 frame?

try rebuilding the engine replacing the seals, valves, etc. That typically helps increase performance. Rebuilding the engine is a good thing to do if you already havent.

im just afraid that i wont be satisfied with the outcome of just doing a rebuild. although ive never ridden a 185 with a fresh rebuild. I got this from the original owner 6 months ago and i've never done anything with engine.
