i recently aquired a 1984 Honda ATC200x in almost mint shape. it had no carburetor so i went out and bought a brand new carb. i figured it start easy like all my other 3 wheelers. but its a bear to get started. you have to hold the throttle in and kick it over and it will eventually fire. it doesn't like to idle either....is there any way i can make it so it starts easier? maybe the spark plug isnt right for the motor? any help would be much appreciated.

i don't know what to say to fix your problem, but i know that ppl are going to ask did u buy a china carb or a original 200x carb?

Make sure your valves are adjusted correctly.

Valves, air leaks, the correct size carp, correct jets can all play factors. New spark plug too...

I bought a China carb a few months ago but didn't use it until a couple weeks ago, bolted it on and the 200X has ran perfect. I didn't turn a screw on it. Starts easy, idles smooth and rev's quick. It was used on a newly rebuilt engine.
