I bought this thing about three months ago and have been fixing it up. It first started out to be a "just enough parts to ride it" but once I got down to the frame I thought what the heck, lets really fix'er up.
So, thanks to all you folks who provided parts this is what I've got so far. Still waiting on a few more thing to come but I think it's safe to say I've got close to two grand in it (at least $1800).

VERY nice restoration and that it's a TRI-Z makes it even nicer since they are very rare. You'd better not forget to repack you elbow bearings after all that polishing.

Thanks guys, glad you like it.
Hey BLAZERONE22, see some of your old parts here? :D
I've only played around in the back yard, still waiting for a rear brake hose. Cant get too crazy just yet. To affraid to go and get it muddy after all that work and it WAS alot of work for sure. But I find it rewarding just to sit in the lawn chair with a beer and stare at it.
It wont collect dust though.

Amen to that!
I like to push my 3 around in different attitudes, install different plastic accesories, etc. Just to sit and look! :D
Simply a beautiful Z!

Hey Davham
I was wondering if you have ever raced the 86250r vs 85 tri-z and which bike won? Which bike got the better hole shot, better midrange and topend in a 150 yd drag race? Also, what were the different 250r and tri-z parts that you bought new from Service honda and was there alot of parts no-longer available? Keep up the good work on those trikes because they look awesome.

Thats a big no shitt there!
The pipe on the Tri-Z is a DG, same for the muffler. I only got honda parts through service honda. All the plastic except rear fenders for the Z are discontinued(for yellow) and a few other small parts. I have not yet taken the 250R out of the yard but it seems like it might be a little quicker. No chance of a drag race as my trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro will be the only one on them, and niether will be for sale.

You paid $250 for the tri-z? Did it run? Great trike man!

Ya like crap, sounded as if someone was trying to get out with all the banging going on. I found after starting work that the whole thing was pretty much worn out and missing several parts. I dont beleive I'll go that route again on something like that. Should've been a parts bike.
But I'm glad I finished it.
