I recently got an 86R that needs a top end, since we have it torn down we want to pep it up a bit.

what are some good pistons to go with?
what are some good pipes to use, looking for mid-high end power. something you would want on a MX track.

what are some good gaskets to use for the top end?
anyone have any porting specs?

whats a good way to pep up a liquid R without spending a large amount. just looking for a mild build, no strokers Im thinking for now.

I don't know much about 250Rs so now is the time to start

I like Wossner pistons, they are the most modern pistons made.A light port doesn't hurt but not sure how it would go with the Wossners. Wisecos you can shave the skirt a mm or 2 on the intake. If you can find an older Bassani pipe, they make a good mid range burst. As you know the more you do to a two stroke, the more its set for WOT applications. Some guys in the race section could give you an idea on spec's. These are my 2 fav reading materials. http://www.vintagesleds.com/library/manuals/misc/Two-stroke%20Tuner's%20Handbook.pdf
