I'm really not sure if I needed this one. For $20, why not?

It is supposed to run, but needs carb adjustment. I think a full tear down is really needed. I love the Dune cycle sticker on the side of the seat, as well as the emblem on the seat cover

**** UPDATE*********** may 23 2012

Well I sold the dune sport not long after picking it up. I sold it to a friend of my fathers who used to ride them with my parents before I was ever around.

He even picked another one up and fixed it up first and now he is working on the one above. Here are they are.

He installed a cheap china motor from harbor freight. A lot was redone, the turning breaks are awesome. I kind of wish all trikes had a diff and turning brakes after taking it for a spin.

Here is the one originally posted under construction.

Heck ya you need it! Onnie just drug home a non-running lawn mower last night. He cleaned the sparkplug & wire, found a broken wire and connected it, and put in clean gas. An 11 year old got this running because he was given a cart like yours and needed a motor. Yours is cooler though, but for kids and friends that visit, and don't do cycles, trikes and the like, what you have is the perfect tool to intertain them. I think it's really cool. Would love to have a 3-wheeled cart for $20 than a free go-cart we have.

We were looking it over a little last night. Both brake cables need to be replaced. The brakes themselves are there, It has a neat turning brake system with some sort of differential. The tires are in good condition and are the originals.

Well heck ya Brett, but non-the-less, look at the simplicity of the parts. That's an easy frame to strip down and paint (may I suggest 'grabber green'? 'Chevy orange' my next choice, lol) and not a whole lotta nuts and bolts on the thing. The engine is pretty simple too. That's an awesome rig, in decent shape to own. I'm quite impressed with it, lol.

The neighbor had one of those with 18 Horse Briggs on it. That thing was stupid fast and would turn on a dime with the steer brakes. He had 14" donut tires from the junk yard on his. Great find, they are a blast to ride. Aint that the darndest looking clutch/torque converter/axle set up? I looked at the neighbors for 5 minutes and couldnt figure out how or why it worked.

Hahaha Yes that bottle is the gas tank. We gave it a pull last night and it almost fired up.

It needs some new cables, a gas tank (obviously), the plate that the engine is bolted too is only connected on one side, it's going to be a project.

I doubt I will be able to drive it, I sit in it and I can't turn the bars due to my knees being in the way.

And yes, the rear end on that thing baffles me. I am willing to bet the turning brakes work if the cables weren't locked up.

I might have a gas tank that will fit on that motor. Ill look for it today. Is it an 8 horse?

edit: I no longer have that gas tank. Sorry.

I have no idea on the motor cc or hp. I would imagine its somewhere in the 5-8hp range. I am sure it is the motor that came on it.

I wonder if I can dig up an old manual or magazine ad with some information.
