you can buy the 250es maier fender it will look way better than those fenders lol not sure home much they cost

Here's my new-to-me 87! I haven't done a thing to it yet, but I plan on putting on some tires and rims like Thorpe and Jason125m. This is my first BR, and I couldn't be happier with it. It has soo much more power than my 200e, and the ride is smoother than my dad's Rancher 400!

Thanks! I was watching craigslist for a BR for a long time before I found this one. Just happened to be an '87..I guess I just got lucky. According to production numbers I found on a different thread, there were 109,842 1985s, 28,674 1986s, and only 4,889 1987 Big Reds produced. That means about 1 in every 30 BR's is an 87...Others on this site have 1987's as well. Doesn't really matter what year BR you have though, they are all sweet!

It does look kind of odd in that sense, but if you matched the front to the rears it would be unreal! Sweet BR though.

Yes it fits. Starting a 86 250r build, so i'm not putting any more money into this es for a while.
I have a feeling i won't even use it after i am done the r. Lol

That happens to me all the time And I say do you have pictures and they say no but I know it's a 250 big red and then it's a 200es

yeah... out of 2 successful kijiji buys, that happened about 5-6 times. One guy was trying to tell me i was wrong. I was like, READ THE FRAME! AND i already have a 250es! i know what it looks like!!!!!

I have another seat (used but usable) just haven't gotten them on yet. The old seat I was told by previous owner was eaten by a pony when it was left in the pasture overnight:lol:

Here is mine..just bought it a month ago from a guy in Michigan. Got machine, plow, tire chains and title for $1000..

He11 of a good deal I thought..

It still has the original tires on with around 60-70% tread..super low hour machine. Rides like a couch..love it!!

The bad..a partially collapsed tank from it being stored in the winter with the cap vent closed.

I sold the plow to a friend for $225..official price $775. Oh yeah came with a rifle holder..I have no use for that and will be taking it off.

I have 2nd 1986 honda ATC 250es big red and has been sitting since Oct of 2010 but soon in Fall, will do rebuild carb, get a new plastic gas tank, new petcock. (red big red) i have another 250es big red that one is in Camo in first or 2nd page on this forum.

Here is my 85 BR. got it from the original owner, all paper work from honda. most work it did was tow the kids up the hill in the snow. it sat for 6 years under a tarp in his garage. he took it out and said 300 dollars. I loaded in the truck, got home, been smiling ever since :cool:

I found a set of fenders, racks, and a front end off an 86 br for $200 I couldn't let me go. And now my br isn't a miss fit with its 45g drum fenders. 132267132268132269 I know I need a seat cover
Nice to see it with proper fenders lol but whatever works I guess!! Looks way better and seats are a minor thing
