Ive only taken about 6 carbs apart in my life.Theyve pretty much all looed the same till this one. What makes this one different? It has no butterfly in it like others Ive wiorked on,and the float system is really weird compared to others Ive done. This came off an 83 250r Ive just picked up.its a mikuni, the markings on it say 34A

Is this the stock carb for this bike?
thanks

Generally, most wheeler carbs didnt have butterflies. They use a slide instead. I could be mistaken, but I dont think Honda ever used Mikuni carbs, even on the older models. So, I doubt that is the stock carb.

Some machines nowadays use a combination butterfly/slide carb like the 350x had. The DS650 uses a vaccum actuated slide in conjunction with a mechanically actuated butterfly. Not sure why some use the combination carbs where others use just the slide alone.

Yep, looks like a fairly typical Mikuni roundslide carb.
