good or bad deal on 350x?

so i just bought a clean '85 350x. looks like it has next to no ride time on it. new maier plastics, new fork boots. all the brakes work. the thing really looks almost brand new. has new tires on it and the polished DG exhaust looks new as well. owner has had it since '97 and he said he barely ever rode it. pilot jet seems like it is clogged. doesn't want to idle. picked it up for 1200. any thoughts? this thing is really clean.

skid plates aren't bent. even has a mint taillight. hardly any paint missing at all from boots rubbing.

things wrong.... the switch cover on the handle bars has a crack. it has an aftermarket seat cover. small quarter size dig on the very front of the gas tank.

I'd say you did really good if it s really as clean as you say it is.

Seems like a good deal. Sounds restored to that condition to me. U don't need all new fenders, fork boots, new tires, and have a different seat cover on something that doesn't have ride time. Still a good deal depending on what's up with the motor or carb.

you did good.
i just picked this one up for $700 about the same condition as yours, but no exhaust and a few broken header studs
hope the motor and carb are alright!

I rode it. Starts fine and has good compression. Just didn't want to idle.

Clean that carb out thoroughly and see if it will idle- make sure all of the jets are clean and clear.
