This weekend we covered some ground on our 350x's..(approx 40 miles). Myself,R-tifacts,and bigredrider...Hopefully they will share there photos also..Lots of mountains and creeks in our parts, which equates to multiple types of riding..( so much for my fresh 350x )

I know the feeling always looking to get out on mine...its like another kid if im not paying attention to her i feel like im neglecting her lol I go out with my father in law on his 110 atc but he never wants to go further than 10 mins from home which is ok but im the type that likes to go explorer and stuff. I live right in rotterdam next to the tracks off mariaville rd wouldnt be nothing to hope on the tracks and head out and meet you in delanson or duansburg (would be eaiser to throw it on the trailer if i had a truck lol but half the fun of going some where is getting there :) )

good luck supposed to be registered in NY state all together unless your riding on your own private land but as long as you dont p*** off any land owners or go tearing up state land or go running up and down the rd for the most part people and the cops dont really bother your as long as your using your head and wearing a helmet and such I have been stopped by a couple state troopers and they were cool about it

They didnt bother asking me for anything just where i was going and where i had been although mine isnt registered I do have insurance on it incase its stolen or I get hurt or what ever they didnt even look at that even thou I handed it to him they were more interested in talking about the trike lol I mean its all going to depend on how they are in your area or for that matter what kind of mood they are in that day lol

Hey fellow NYers! Im from the Camden area, northeast of Syracuse about 40 miles... Looks like you had a good ride. I just started riding the Tug Hill region on wheelers last summer and its a blast! Lots of seasonal roads open to ATVs in the Turin, highmarket, Montague, Barnes Corners area. But you do want to be registered and insured as the local sherrifs do check once in a while.
Those of you with no paperwork to register: If you have owned your wheeler for at least 3 years you can fill out and submit an affidavit of ownership along with the application for a new registration and get those things licensed and legal. I would really recommend doing this because riding around with no plate kind of puts out a bad image of us to the general public. Not trying to preach at you guys, just trying to help. There are other trails in Lewis county that you have to have a Lewis county trail pass to ride, but those trails are clearly marked. If anybody wants more info on the Tug Hill area or Lewis county let me know and I can send or post up some links if there is interest here in this thread.

Yeah, they R oem tires on the 85 350X...Its actually all original right down to the tool kit and mudflap..Im well aware of their value, I Try to be cautious with them, but im not gonna save them for the next guy.Im gonna enjoy them myself (not meant to be cocky) This is my 11th 350X and fully intend to bring this one to the grave with me,ive always sold everything else up to this point...

Hmm. Is there any way to wave tht three year wait period if i have a bill of sale? its just a handwritten one but its legit and I can get ahold of the previous owner if i have to.

Not sure if there is a way to waive the 3 year period. But I forgot to mention you will also need to take a rubbing or a digital picture of the vin number to the DMV along with the forms. If you are certain the previous owner had it at least 3 years you could get away with using the affidavit of ownership form. Or, the previous owner could get it registered in his name using the affidavit form and then transfer the registration to you...

I bought a 1985 Honda big red from a school district auction in new york around 2003. It was one of the many big reds that were given to police and fire departments when they were banned. It had been shuffled around from various town barns to equipment sheds to garages for 15 years and there was no paperwork. I was able to get it registered immediately with a rubbing of the VIN and my auction recipt, possibly only because it was a government auction though.
aince we are on the topic of upatate trails, do any of you know what ever happened to the trails that went from Little Falls through Dolgeville and Salisbury Center?
