I'm in the middle of a top end "restructuring" ;) of my 200S motor, which will be surgically implanted in my AUTOX project.

Motor mods:I am putting an 84 XL200R cam in the motor with a "garage bench port and polish" meaning I polished the exhaust port and cleaned up the casting marks and blended the intake and matched up the carb/manifold/head passage way

SOooooo.....
Cam chain tensioner and guide: Neither look too bad, but since I have it apart I was thinking of replacing them as long as I am replacing the cam chain. If I replace them, should I just go with Honda parts or are the Parts Unlimited ones good to go? I want them to be reliable.

Clutch: Should I do any upgrades to the clutch? Maybe a new set of 200S springs or maybe 200X springs? I have no clue of the difference if any betwenn the two sets of springs.

Thank You for your advice, any other input is welcome.

I will be posting a thrread on this build in the near future ;)

ebay parts are fine.
200x and 200s haev different springs and clutches because 1 is manual the other is auto. need to get performance 200s springs.
you need a upgraded piston a XR200 piston or at least a 200x one. if you got the $ get a wiseco 10.25:1

I already have the Wiseco 10.25:1 ;)

I just read up a bit more on the 200S springs from Kirk and they are 10% stronger, so that will probably do. The other clutch worked fine, but since I have it open and it's 25+ years old, well, you know.

I will be running a DG exhaust

Oscar-I looked at your site, what exactly is a performance head gasket? Is this something different than what comes in a normal gasket set?

Im not oscar, but a high dollar head gasket Like a copper one. They will hold up to the higher compression unlike the cheapo ones. Plus you can reuse them.

A stock 200x piston fits in a stock 200s jug? Cool... I just bought a 85 x and already own a 84 200s. But the x i just bought has a bunch of motor parts missing.... what to do

Yep it sure does. I have a 200s jug on my 84 200s. I have some extra top end parts as well PM me a list of what you need and Ill tell you what I got. Maybe we can come up with some parts so you dont have to desecrate your 200s.
