nope, ATC185 and ATC200 motors will bolt right up. Minor changes need to be done sometimes, but they are all basically the same motor.

The motor will not bolt in. The 250es motors and the 200 motors are completely different. all atc 200 motors ( except the 200es ) are chain drive. The 250es is shaft drive.
To my knowledge only the 250es, 250sx, and the trx250 motors are inner changeable. The big difference there is in the gearing. If my memory is correct the 250es & trx250 is geared lower than the 250sx.

ok well i know where i can get a 200 for 150 canadian $. the problem is that there is a piece of the frame cut out where the engine bolts up. My friend said he had a 250 bigred frame but i dont think it is a 250 cause i am pretty sure it is a chain drive model. and has no suspension. is there any 200 bigreds or 250 bigreds that are chain??

Should be no problem there. The 200e was a chain drive Big Red that came out in '82, basicly a 200 with an electric starter and standard racks. The only other major difference that I can think of right now is the 200 had an automatic decompression lever via a cable to the pull starter. It needed it due to the fact it had no electric starter. The plastics were a little different but that wont effect the swap at all.
