Air box to 38mm carb ATC 250R

Oh yeah, so excited to get my stock airbox. DUH, how the he@# is it going to fit the 38mm Airstryker. The tube wont fit over the carb. Before I try something really stupid, can someone help me with this issue.

If its dry and hard, good luck. Mine was soft and pliable so I just took the dremel with the little sanding drum and took off some material until I was able to slide it over the the boot. Its a pain but it is well worth it once you get it all together.

Mosh gave me a great tip with my 350x air box setup that worked great. Boil the boot in water and Murphy's Oil Soap until its soft. Then it won't be such a struggle getting it on.

BKM, mine is soft and pliable. Would you recommend your dremel trick or do you think the Mosh trick would work? this thing is in great shape and I dont want to mess it up

Mine was a 39mm pwk and it wasn't going to fit without modification. try the Mosh trick first and if all else fails your going to have to modify it.

I heat mine with a blowdryer and put a little oil on it to get it over my 36. Don't know if it would do another 2MM though.
