Hey All-

Just got an'85 200X for a rebuild project. Got the service manual and have done a little tear down. Gonna go through the whole bike. New to trikes, but not new to rebuilding. Need to know what good "rebuild kits" are available for things such as brake pads, master cylinders, motor seals, etc. I don't want cheap eBay chinese stuff, but I'm not looking to gold plate the thing. Got any recommendations? Are there specific parts that should be OEM?:wondering

Thanks!

Heck, If you want good quality, just go to your local Honda dealership and buy your rebuild kit there.

Hell, I don't have a lot of experience with the rebuilds as a lot of guys on here do, but from the stuff that I bought that looked like good quality I would have to say...
-Vesrah gasket sets look decent to me.
- All Ballz bearings
- Wiseco Piston kits.

K and L has good carb kits. Hyperparts has good caliper rebuild kits.

I always use OEM seals, but the gaskets are mostly discontinued; I have had great reliability with VESRAH gaskets.

Wiseco makes great pistons/rings; Dennis Kirk sells a great timing chain tensioner kit and DID chain. They get noisy when worn.

Run good oil such as a Shell Rotella 15W40 or Valvoline VR1 10-30/10-40. They have Zinc in them which the "energy saving" oils do not.

Some EBAY stuff is OK, the carbs are fake copies; I'd rather rebuild an OEM carb than buy a new one. People don't want to rebuild their carb and feel a new one will fix it. Some work very well and others suk...........

^ NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maier just inflates the price. ATVPARTSDEPOT for plastic; Cost me 14$ shipping for a front and rear 350X set of fenders 137$ rear, 34$ front.......... I challenge anyone to beat that cost.........

Rocky Mountain ATV has closeouts sometimes; I got a set of Moose adapters and 1.125 ATV high bars one time for under 100$, 7$ shipping. They also have stainless steel rotors, sintered metal pads (OEM is best though) and motion pro cables.

What else ya got?? :D

PS - Q dude better not be QUAD DUDE!!

No, the "qdude" doesn't stand for quad, though I do ride quads and dirtbikes as well!

This is great info, guys! Gonna check for the plastics!

Hey, what are you guys running for brakes? Mine need to be replaced and I don't want cheap junk, nor do I want to spend a fortune...

I just ordered piston/rings/valves/t-chain/tensioner/gasket kit from bikerchick off ebay, and dratv. The vesrah and DID brands are the way to go as long as your motor is out of the frame.
