I'm thinking of going down to 20" Kenda Vipers on my "show" bike. I'm staying with stock gearing. That should mean more torque, but a small loss in top speed, right???

You are correct. Smaller tires will mean more torqe and less top end speed. If your trail riding you probably will like the added torqe. On most trails you never see the top end speed anyway. ;)

But, If you need ground clearance, 22's are great.

Thanks for the replies. I will be riding this bike in the sand typically, so I'm not tto worried about clearance. I'm thinking torque would be a bonus in the sand???

Anyone have a picture of the 20 inch Kenda Vipers? I wouldn't mind having them but I dont like how round the 22s are.

I bought these not long ago and they did great for me even in alittle bit of sand. If you are dune riding then you might look at something else.....peace

I was just clarifying it for others. Personally, I do not believe there is a single application in which All Trax are not a better choice than the Vipers, but then thats just me. The All Trax is an excellent sand tire, hard to beat other than with a paddle.
