Hey everyone,

Since the OTC races are moving outdoors now, I figured I'd setup my 250r for racing. I'm hoping to have this one ready for Malvern. Here are some parts added so far: CRF sectional pipe, polished Answer silencer, Short Track Kit with new tank and shrouds, CALFAB swingarm, HD rear axle, 18" fast trekkers, new Douglas Red Label rear rims, Maier Low-pro rear fenders. I'm waiting on my 10" front rim to come in so I can get rid of the huge front tire LOL. I also have a NASA fork brace for it, number plates for the front and rear, and a black seat cover being made. Let me know what you think.

LOVE the big wheels on the back and the whole trike. I have been looking at that thread style tires, how do you like the tires and what size is that set up?

I love the tires and run them on my 200x as well. The tires are 18 x 11 x 10 Fast trekkers on 10 x 10 Douglas rims. The CRF sectional fit on really easily actually, way easier than the FMF on my other 250r. The challenge was in finding a silencer that aligned decent. Thanks for the good comments.

Not CRF the bike, CRF the pipe manufacturer. It stands for "Crotch Rocket Factory".

Looks nice. If you value that swinger I would take it off. Cal fabs will crack for sure with mx abuse. One good crash that has the bike flip sideways on its side would do it too. Good luck racing though.

Oh, I see. The CRF ( 4 stroke Honda MX bike ) pipe had me confused. Is that pipe made for some kind of 2 stroke sport/race bike? I'm working on an idea and the expansion chamber is an issue.

It is made for that model Trike. I have one on my 85 Tecate. I'm sure there are a lot of applications just like any other brand.

Definitely Raffa :naughty:.

When it comes to the CALFAB swingarm everyone has there own philosophy. Personally, i feel that it was made for racing and that it belongs on a track. You are correct Fabio, CRF stands for Crotch Rocket Factory.

Thanks, Matt

Looking nasty R bud.

Easy on the Cal-Fab and don't let the family ride it  :beer

Those aluminum welds may look great but don't seem to stand up........

Hey,

glad to see your getting it setup for the outdoor season, thing is looking tits!

just a heads up, Those rear rims bend easy, even if they are red labels.
There just isnt enough tire there to absorb the impact. Some people have luck, but most of us have to run the BAJA style with the reinforcer ring to stop the taco'ing

LOL, I was waiting for that comment DC and I havent put a fuel line on it partially for that reason. I plan on racing this bike this season and then semi-retiring it in lieu of switching to a modern trike for next year. Both this 250r and my 200x racer will probably end up more as show bikes after next winter.

Thanks for the heads up Kintore. I'll see how these treat me in the short term, but will probably move to the BAJA style down the road to prevent any issues especially with running the 10" rims.

Thanks for the good comments,

Finally got the 250r done. Here are some finished pictures. I'll be racing it tomorrow at Lorain County Fair. I ended up stripping the entire bike down and starting with a freshly powdercoated frame. I added the 10" front rim and tire and Phase Five Racing seat cover as well (thanks to Mrs. Mosh). Encase anyone was wondering, I switched the Fast Trekkers around to the correct direction after the photos. Thanks, xrider

Just got back from the race and the bike performed awesome. I won my class in the first moto. Unfortunately I forgot to bring extra plugs to the race and I fouled a plug after the first moto. By the time I realized it and got it changed the second moto was already underway. The suspension setup with the calfab, 18" rear tires, and 10" front rim felt perfect on the track tho. I ended up not using the Westcoast Hubs as I went with a +6" Finishline axle instead. No it doesn't have a 310 kit, I'm running a Phase Five Stage 9 Kit. I'll check on the tire size for you motoman, I can't remember off the top of my head. Thanks, xrider
