View Full Version : 250sx cam timing cant get rite. 4 hours now.

tried moving cam side, crank side. always 1/2 a tooth off it seems. here are some pics. with the crank dead on the T . thanks

no its tight, cant move it at all up or side to side it tight also.

Put her together,they very seldom "line up on the dot" it will be just fine! Lean in between the F and the T and time her. She'll be fine.

Is that top sprocket on backwards? You usually use those 2 marks on the sprocket and align them parallel to the head; It's because 12:00 won't line it up being that the motor is on a slant.........

Been a long time since I tore an SX down, maybe those marks on the sprocket are on both sides :wondering

Nevermind, looks like they do face the spark plug in the manual.

Your chain may just be stretched/guides worn.

well theres no play in the chain. its good and tight. motors running decent. lost som power because its cam was worn and i swapted in a big reds cam. because i had it.
