1987 200x????? help?

i went and looked at it. i though all the 87's had electric start and a battery but this one had neither one. i was a little worried no head light messed up grab bar and foot rests and it was low on oil. was electric start an option? it has a key that turns one click. should it have turn key ignition or a push button? m kinda confused. btw i got him to 800

As far as I know 200x never had a battery or electric start, just had a keyed ignition.

i thought they had electric start? why have a keyed ignition and a kill switch on the handle bars? im confused

200X were never electric start or battery systems, you may be confusing them with the Big Red series, some of which did have battery and e-start. $800 looks like a good number from the pics.

Keyed Ignition is to make it more secure. Doesnt mean electric start. Kill switch is because you have to have one lol

I was sure the 200X was kick start only as well, there will be a 200x guru along soon I am sure.....

well thats just confusing as hell. i looked it up though and it has an 86 frame? with it being low on oil im a little iffy idk though

I would hold off on that one, I was looking at them in the twin citys and I found quite a few for 900 and under in much better shape, Im not sure the total distance from where you are but Id keep looking if I were you, Hell drive to northern WI and Ill sell you a nice one

ok thank you! ill have to hit you up next time im in the north. my house sits less than 50 feet from the wi/ill boarder so its kinda a hike. its rougher than the pics look. it has the wrong decals, and the plastics feel painted, theyre really rough. idk maybe im wrong

No problem I buy and sell them all the time, from what I see and what youve told me around 450 600 range is better the only reason Id give this is because its an 87 youll find a nicer one for sure

I won't buy anything with a low oil level, shows you they weren't even smart enough to fill it before you came.

The 200SX quad had a similar motor (same top end) and a battery with electric start; Thats what you may have been thinking of........

Yeah. No electric start and no battery on an '87 200X, or any 200X for that matter. I have an '87.
