my $21 performace upgrade for my 87 250sx
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
got a 250x carb on the bay for 21 bucks....
soaked it and cleaned, got the axcelerater pump working. and bolted her up.
it made a huge bump in power.. now just have to tune it. its running a little lean.

Im curious about this upgrade, do you use the stock 250sx throttle cable or do you use the 250x cable? Also you say you noticed an increase in power are we talkin horsepower or torque. I got a 250sx set up for woods riding, im running a big red ring and pinion which helped a lot for climbing hills but still looking to get a lil more grunt out of her.

How many MM's larger?
Jet sizes? Stock intake size and airbox boot??

I think it's 2mm larger, but I'm not certain. You can just use the full intake boot (to the head) from the 300ex/250x. I fit mine into the stock SX boot, but that was a pretty tight squeeze.
Uses the stock SX cable. I can't comment on it's power change much due to my SX being low on power, and inconsistent. So my experience isn't the best example.

My 250sx runs strong now through all gears. Don't need choke anymore. Hit wot 2-4 times kick her once and fires rite up. It pulls a lot harder now to. Its a tight, tight fit. And a bit** to squeeze in the intake boot. Its like 8mm bigger bore I think. Its verry noticeable side by side
