What would be the value of a 85 Honda 125m running but smoking? :wondering How common are these models and are parts readily available?

Parts are not really available, you can get some... but not many. Gasket kits to stop the smoking are available for around 50 dollars. Running but smoking would be 300 ish max here in Canada.

Thanks Jason....asking price is 200....still trying to find out if the guy still has it or not. If he does probably may try and get it.

this is really poor advice. if the motor is smoking - you will need to do a top end rebuild. Like hone and / or bore, new piston, new rings, new valves and valve seats. And of coarse a gasket kit will be needed for a top end rebuild. You are looking at a minimum of $250 if you do the work yourself - double it if a shop does the work for you.

Ok atctim if that's the case is there any value in it as a part out vehicle:wondering. Not looking at it to make gobs of money or anything but is there enough demand for these parts on here that at a minimum I could make the money back? Looked to be all there. Still a shot in the dark cause the guy has not gotten back to me yet. But I figure even if I get it and end up tearing it down to part it out the least I can gain is more knowledge.
What do ya think?

I just gave $30 for a really nice seat and $80 (shipped) for a really clean tank if that helps you any. If it's working well, that darn recoil would sell on ebay for $30 or better. Front fender, if it's a Honda probably $30. Rear fenders, maybe $50-$100? Motor itself, maybe $125'ish if it's running well.
