Anyone ever done a brake light conversion on a 200X? I'm just starting on a 200 AutoX conversion and would like to have a brake light instead of just a tailight. I don't think it would be to hard with the hydrauic brakes. I could put in a junction block for the switch then either modify the existing tailight for the dual filament bulb or use something from a more modern wheelr that already has the dual filament capability.
Thoughts/comments?

The brake switch on my old harley is just a button switch that is about 1/4" around that the brake lever rests against. When the brake is applied it releases the button thus activating the light. It is a rear brake switch for a 77 Sportster. They are pretty cheap and would be easy to mount.

On my 350x, I used a trx450r taillight. It's led and has both a running light and brake light circuit. It bolted up to the 350x taillilght bracket, and I used a couple rubber washers to help isolate vibrations. Then I picked up a brake light switch that attaches inline at the rear brake master cylinder. Then all you have to do is run a hot wire to your switch and then a wire from the switch to the brake light and there you have a brake light. And when you get your brakelight, make sure it comes with the factory plug ins, that way you can make the install look really clean and plug in and out just like the factory wiring.

Thanks guys!!
hoosier-I believe that's the same switch on my wifes 76 FLH, but I'd have to double check. Been a Harley guy since 85, still have my first HD I bought new-1985 LowRider. Wife rides a 98 Road King and the 76 FLH. The FLH is under theknife right now for new tanks and rear fender, paint and a tranny seal.
I like your set up vealmonkey, I may have to go with that.
Once I get all the parts and start the conversion I'll start posting pics and info.
