'85 - '86 200X gas tank interchange?

I'm trying to get started building an AutoX. I know there are very few parts that interchange from the '83-'85 and the '86-'87 models, but does anyone know if an '86 gas tank will fit on an '85 frame?

Just looking at photos, it looks like the seats mount about the same, and I don't mind a little "tweaking" if it necessary.

It may fit with work but they are very very different. I have seen the 83-85 tank used on the 86-87 model but never the other way around. It should be pretty easy to find a 83-85 tank and if you already have a 86-87 tank it should be easy to sell it to pay for the other - they are much harder to find in good shape.

I am looking for a 86 200x tank and i have two 83-85 tanks. Maybe we do some type of trade.
