New wire and cap? Clean your points with a clean piece of paper. Should run!

Remove the spark plug cap and touch the coil wire to ground and see if you have spark , this will tell you if you have a bad cap or plug also replace the points even if they look good .

the points are brand new also ill try pulling the cap and checking that tho.

Hi

x2 on pulling the cap to check for spark directly from the wire
to the head.

Also, for some reason, if you can trim off the very last little
bit of the coil wire where the cap screws to, it has been
know to make all the difference in the world.

All it takes is like 1/8" or less than the thickness of a matchbook.

Takes 2 seconds, costs nothing and has been known to fix
this kind of problem.

Unless your coil came with a new wire.

and where the coil bolts to the frame is all nice and clean?
as in clean grounds

As I recall, almost any bike shop can test a coil.

I know it's new but if you've got voltage going TO it,
there's a weak link somewhere.
That coil may have been returned at some time too.

I've also installed Points and condenser a little bit wrong and had them dead short.
Some have funny little washers / insulators that need to be just right.

Is there any chance your kill switch has a spiders nest in it? or otherwise shorted out?

They may simply unplug to eliminate that as a prob.

ya i by passed the kill switch. i guess i may have a bad coil. ill try another one. and ya its bare metal where the coil bolts to the frame. it only sparks sometimes and has a very weak spark at times to. but most of the time nothing. you would think if i got volts going to the plug i would get spark but not in this case.

sounds to me you are lacking in amps if your tester checks for that try that, it will help you narrow it down, had to replace an ignition in a loader once that passed volts, but was dead on amps

I;d be tempted to check all frame grounds.

Sorry for the frustration but as soon as it goes brooom!

You may forget to tell us what it was.

You'll get it.

We always do.
