What do you guys think. Inland atv has got another motor i can get and use for parts. I want a 2 stroke air cooled 3 wheeler. And i though thiswould be fun to build.

isn't the 85r a left side drive chain? and that 450 is a right side... if so would that be hard to change?

Well i think i have really made my mind up on a winter project now. The guy that has the 250rs sold one so i gotta get the other one soon. I will pombley take 2 cr450 pies and build one.

It might be good if you want something really unique, but that engine probably won't make a very good trike engine. I remember it being bashed in the mags when it was new.

On the other hand, I own a Yamaha 490 which is also on the list so I'm clearly not following my own logic...

Someone will bid on it. Its only at a dollar! I heard good and bad about the 450 motor. If it was me,i would do it!

I've heard the 480R motor (also air-cooled) was worlds better than the 450. You may want to research using one of them.

Yes, I'd say it is. Not sure how much more so compared to the 450R. I've seen a couple on ebay every now and then.

the 490 motor is good for a trike... my buddy has a 86 200x frame, 350x swingarm, & 490 air-cooled motor.... that trike lifts up all through the gears, can do well over 100mph
he broke the swingarm bolt... when he finds another one, i'll get a pic

well i was out of town for that motor and didnt get a chance to bid on it. I email inland atv and they got one for 450 with new top end. but no carb foot lever or kickstart he wants 75 just for the kick start. Is it worth 450.
