For all the 350x experts out there, what is the common cause of a creaking noise? I notice it mostly when I am on uneven terrain and the bike is being twisted. I am going to check for the crack areas that vealmonkey listed in the thread about buying a 350, but other than that are there common bushings or things of the like that could do it? Thanks.

On mine it was the top shock mount bushings.

^ yep, it is usually shock or pivot (swingarm front) bearings that does it. The longer it goes, the harder it will come apart. The top shock mount does come apart and the bronze bushing can be greased.

The 450R top bearing is a needle bearing, collar and 2 seals. It fits the width and ID, I'd have to check the OD..........

It would be smoother and with zero play, the OEM just squirts the grease right back out because they are worn.

Just wondering if it might be a cracked frame? I noticed on mine, there were cracks up by my left foot area. I noticed there seems to be some kinf of a common issue with other 350X owners? Has anyone dealt with this before?

It is possible to hear creeking from your left peg if that downtube by the rear motor mount is broken. BUT like previous posters have mentioned, my top shock mount bushing creeks alot. I'm always spraying it down with the lithium grease to make it stop.

swing arm pivot bearings. I helped my bro change his and the squeaking went away.

I hear creaking on mine every time I ride it but it is my back and knees:lol::( More important to answer your ??? on mine it was shock upper shock mount as well. Gear oil cured it. As DC says, it should be removed and fixed right as it will chew into metal in a matter of time and wear out other parts. Need to tear into mine soon.

Hey DC, you happen to get a chance to measure the 450 bearing? Thanks.

Hey DC, you happen to get a chance to measure the 450 bearing? Thanks.

I woke up, worked out, cleaned the house, sandblasted for 3 hours, worked on my build and just spent 2 hours on a Honda order for all the guys in need of parts.

Send me a PM and I'll remember. Thats the bearing/collar and seals I run in my 250R shock, on a 350X frame........

I'll look into it.
