I have an 85 350x wat are the easiest way to get rust of my stock pipe it is in terrible shape an I'm restoring it

Wire wheel on a grinder if it's heavy. Worst is, ifs it that heavy of rust it's usually pitted. Pics could help.

Sandblasting rusty metal can end badly, if the rust is all the way through in places a sandblaster can knock holes.

I would use emery cloth lightly on the thick stuff and finish it with steelwool.

Um... I hate to side with bcredneck here, but he is right. If the rust is that bad, you would end up with holes either way...

Wire wheel if you don't have the sand blaster. How bad is it rusted? I'd go as far as getting a new pretty looking pipe if your restoring it.

If you wanting a little more performance, then I'd go to an exhaust shop and have them make you a pipe that is a few mm wider.
