Anyone know what size studs I need to replace the exhaust studs on my X. There is a leak and I would like to change the studs while everything is out. Have plenty or PB Blaster and an Oxy Acetylene at the ready. Thanks guys.

It's best to buy a length of SS M8x1.25 and cut them to length.

The original studs had a knurl (to keep them in permanently) that destroys the threads on the way out so hopefully you don't have that issue.

If you can get them out and save the threads, you can buy OEM studs and use a SS nut/washer.

Be careful, those studs tend to snap the casting boss; Then you may wanna send it my way............

Got a picture of the casting boss by chance? Not too clear on what you mean by that.

Just look at your head, what does the stud go into? It will be obvious......

Get your flashlight out!

Boss meaning "raised and cast area for a specific hole"........

Thanks. Trikes at my buddies house and never looked at it real close to see what it actually looked like. Appreciate the help. Is the big hole one of the ones you were in the process of fixing? Do you do a heli-coil type of thing or just a stud with big threads on the bottom and the normal size up high?
