A guy I work with said he used to have a 87 200X. This is a straight up guy, so I wouldn't think he'd lie to me. I asked him if he was sure that he didn't have a 86, and he said no because he even had a title and it also said 87. I told him that there wasn't that many of them made and he should have kept it. Well, we got to talking about the possibility that there might actually be a "few" 87 R's somewhere. I told him about the differences in the 86 and 87 R, and his eyes lit up when I told him that supposedly the 87's had a keyed ignition. The next words out of his mouth was that his 87 X had a keyed ignition and it also had a neutral light that only worked when it was running (no battery). Is this true? He's said he had some pics of it and he'd bring them. He also said that he thought maybe the bike is still here in town somewhere, but he thought the guy that had it took the motor out and put it on a Blaster frame and since sold the Blaster, but still maybe has the frame. I'll get some pics asap. Let me know if that's right about the keyed ignition and the neutral light. Thanks guys.

87 200x's are rare, but not REALLY rare. There was one on ebay a few months ago, with the keyed ignition, but it was beat to hell ( . Im not sure about the neutral light. I heard somewhere that there were only around 500 87' 200x's made. (someone correct me if im wrong) )

i got 2 86's in my back yard as we speak.... they're rare here in south florida... the 3 i've owned were the only 86's i've ever seen.. i've seen a 87, with the keyed ignition, dont recall a neutral light..

the book doesnt say anything about a neutral light either...

We talked some more today about it and he said that maybe it didn't have the neutral light. He thinks he's getting it mixed up with another bike. I thought they were more rare than what they are. Heck, I thought maybe I was on the path to something great. Oh well, I can alway's look for a 87 R or 350X....LOL. Thanks for your reply's guys.
