Our local small engine shop has them for lawnmowers and everything else, cheaper too.

I'd go in and ask if they get returns, if they work and prob hook it up to something with a dependable meter to cross check.

Hour meters by themselves are real cheap.

they have nice ones for ~50-60 they work well. I believe you wrap the wire around the spark plug wire and it will self charge. it is accurate because it pulls directly off the spark.

here is a link to one that I have known people to use.

I believe this is your best bet.

just checked your link, It looks to me like that one will not work. for a 1:1 spark it will max rpm at 8000. for 2:1 spark it will max at only 4k. 1:1 means 1 spark = 1 revolution(like a 2-stroke) 2:1 means it sparks twice per revolution, one on comp and then once on exhaust(like a 4-stroke) It may be fine for a 250r but im not sure where red line is.

I run a tiny tac... works great for the hour's aspect and idle adjustment ,, but when your rippin along the numbers change so quick that it's hard to get a reading.. unless your in 5-6th cruzin at half throttle constant,,
