on my tecate... the previous idiot, i mean owner... painted the complete motor.... i already sanded & polished the head.. and it took about 3 hours..
is there an easier way to strip the paint off, smooth the metal, and polish it ?
When I did this motor, I used aerosol paint stripper. It worked great. I sandblasted the jug & head after stripping. I also have done frames, swingarms, hubs, etc. Let the chemical do the work so you don't have tooooooooooooooo. :-D

where can i get this aerosol paint stripper ??
and wont sandblasting pit or mess up the jug & head ?
my buddy's 250r motor looks chrome... all he did was light sand it, and polish it... i'd do that, but mine is covered with paint
Any hardware store has paint strippers in aerosol cans.
Sand Blasting ( mine I actually did with glass beads) does not hurt anything if you do it right. I installed the head (with the head gasket) onto the cylinder. I tightened it down snug. This covers and protects the seal surfaces for both the top of the cylinder and the head. I put an old spark plug in the spark plug hole. I then taped up with a couple layers of masking tape the cylinder base sealing surface, the water inlet fitting surface, across the reed opening, and the top water inlet.
I stripped off the paint of the cylinder and head to take allot less time in the blasting cabinet. I was looking for satin finish on the head and jug. It probably would have polished up nicely too.
That picture I posted was with absolutely no sand paper touching the engine cases. I stripped the old paint off and then polished it with aluminum polish. It could have easily been finished to chrome-like finish.
It depends too on the shape of the cases. It they are all scratched and gouged up, sand paper will probably be a must.

do you happen to know the name of the glass beads... on the side of the bag
like the size, grit, grain of the glass beads...
i have a sandblaster, i'd like to try to the glass beads
It was a "fine grit" . not sure of the actual numbers.
