Ok so i got a tether kill switch for my 85 250r.

How do i wire this thing up?

The white wire should be a ground, correct? I can ground this wire to the frame.

What color wire should i connect the black wire to?

you can see where i plan to ground the white wire here.

I cut apart some of the black covering over the wires to the right. I should be tapping into one of these wires, correct? Which one?

isnt the tether just a two wire setup? cut the neg or pos to trailprotrailpro coil and wire it in. ive never wired one in before but if i had to guess its just a way to cut spark.

Looks like monroemike has a link in his signature to the manuals as well, along with another method. Thank you Sir for the help!

kooleo,
I believe either will work, But I would look into the link that monroemike gave for a possible better option. I am not trying to confuse you. Just want you to get the best info. Like I said before, I have not tried and tested installing a tether but upon my understanding of the honda diagram what you have should work if your tether switch is "closed" when the cord is pulled out of the plug. On my tether switch it is. Man, I am so sorry if I have confused you.

One other thing, make sure if you tie into the wire that has the male female splice that it is Black with a White stripe.

Theres 2 type of kill switch open circuit and closed, one makes a contact the other breaks it! for the one that makes the contact when you pull the tether out - one wire goes to an earth on the frame and the other you connect to the live wire on the top coil... so when you pull the tether out it'll ground the coil and kill your spark!!
