Is it normal for clutches not to disenage when cold?

The deal is i put new clutches in my 350x 2 weeks ago and got about 8hrs ride time on clutches . But when i start the bike and go to take off they will not disengage,but when bike warms up they are are fine. But it takes about 5 -t0 ten minutes just puting around the yard in 2nd gear before they break free and go, whats the deal? Then once its warm i can ride for 2-3 hrs and lets sit for 15 mins and it does it agian . Any advice ?

My 350x did the same thing! I just just ride as is,, I'll fix It wen it breaks

Did you soak the plates in oil before you installed them?

Mine stick very lightly when there not running and I move them in gear with the clutch pulled in...........

i had to smack my it 125 case with a rock every once in a while to make it work cause i didnt soak the plates on it cause they where used

i soaked them for 24hrs, like trailprotrailpro supposed to do..like i said i ride around the yard for 10-15mins and pop the clucth in and out through 1-3 and and she will run good all day un til i let it sit for about 30mins it does it agin but not as bad cause its still warm i guess. but i will ride it till they quit i guess ,apperantly it happens often..i use a rubber mallet not a rock..LOL, but since they are still pretty new shouldnt they loosen up after awhile?

They might be a bit "stiff" when new but they shouldn't stick. Ride it for a while and see if it gets better. If not I'd take a peak and see what's up.

im thinking maybe they will loosen up after a few more hours of riding, i am also useing castrol gtx 10-40, the honda shop told me to use it if i couldnt find atv oil in my area. so that what i bought

Is/was your clutch basket notched at all??

not that i seen, i looked every part over and cleaned evrything very good before i put it back together.. what kind of damage can it do if its notched?

My Tecate has always done that, from day one.

Not that it really matters, but sometime people use the term "Disengage" the opposite way you do. To some people "Disengaging" the clutch is when you pull it in. Just a matter of preference I guess.

really? so there they are not buring up they are just a little sticky huh? thas good to hear that other trikes do the same not just mine.lol it take a relief of my shoulders
