Clutch/Transmission problem!!

Hey guys i need some help i have an 85 250sx but it has a trx 300 engine in between the pipes. I'm having a problem with 2nd gear. When you shift into second it will pop out of gears and sounds like its chattering/ratcheting:wondering. It will then pop in and out making the same horrible noise. Every other gear works great does anyone have any experience with the transmission or a similar experience. Any help would be great!

I have had similar issues with the stock 250 motor but just by looking at the gearshift drum diagram of a 300 motor it looks like it has the same bolt that commonly breaks off in the 250 motor. It is part 21 on the diagram and it can cause all sorts of shifting issues which have been discussed on here a few times. Might be worth pulling the cover off to have a look could be a fairly cheap fix if your lucky.
