1983 atc 185s question

The story is i parked my 185 last november.I recently went out to start it up and it wouldn't start,i wasn't getting any spark.I replaced the stator now i have spark,but there is a mist of gas shooting into my airbox.What can cause that? i have never had that happen before.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Your timing....electrical or mechanical is off. Or it's possible that you have a tight intake valve that is actually being held open. If you have good compression then my best guess is the electrical timing needs to be adjusted.
